Artist Information

Damien Hirst is equal parts artist and entrepreneur, rising to prominence through his artworks and parlaying that notoriety into a successful accumulation of wealth and prestige. Fascinated with the life cycle, specifically death, these themes have informed a great deal of Hirst’s work, including some of his most famous pieces such as For the Love of God, a platinum cast replica of a human skull adorned with over 1,000 carats of diamonds and human teeth. As the UK’s richest living artist, he is also a prolific collector, supporting the work of many contemporary emerging artists.
